Well , i dropped the cash and bought myself an mpc2500.
I must say that i'm pleased with the difference to my mpc1000 , it certainly feels more complete.
Although i think that they could have made the effects a little better , and maybe implement 4 effect sends instead of 2 , and also the compressor is still unusable , it's like it's just a limiter , changing release and attack doesn't change anything.
Also the ability to assign a filter to a program instead of a pad would be cool for synth-programs.

But 4 midi-outs , 10 anolg out's , better pads (and i really like them) , 4 q-links , Mute-groups , Mute records , grid-editing, hmm very nice.

So , what i wanted to ask is how mutch noise does a harddrive in the mpc2500 make? does the casing dampen the sound a lot or is it still very noticable?
Cause i spend money on an isolated pc-casing and drives , i removed the fan from my e-mu sampler so everything is quiet now, i don't want a noizy harddrive to ruin all my time and money i spent on removing all the noise sources.
Greetz...

Don't worry, they're laptop harddrives, usually make almost no sound at all. At most when powering up, or loading and saving. But I never notice mine when playing.

yea i hear mine when powering up loading and saving. thats the only time its in use, whilst your playing, all the sounds you have are coming from your memory so your harddrive is just i there lying dormant
