Syncing MPC 1K with Logic 5

i dont know if its been posted before (if it has point me to the whereabouts) i need a step by step guide on setting up the midi sync between Logic and the mpc so i can track with ease, i've tried doing off my own back by going through the help files in logic, they are synced but during recording in logic, it waits for the mpc's signal, i hit play on the MP, and there's a Latency of a quarter of a bar before it starts recording the signal... any help would be much appreciated... i know how to set the midi settings on the 1k, so just the info of what i need to do in logic would be cool

as long as it waitsa ther same amount of time each pass then its ok, it wilbe consistent so your tracks will line up. problem with clock is that it can be flaky, triggering differently each time.

Why not sync so the MPC starts whwn you press play in Logic?

1. choose Internal Sync and Autosync In in Logic

2. Go to the syncmenu on the Mpc choose Sync In: 1 or 2 leave Sync Out: OFF

I had a little problem after v. 2.10, that my syncing did not work with the Mpc Midi port 1??, maybe its a hardware error, but if its not and you expirence same problem switch to port 2.

try to bear with me, there's no easy way to describe this, but i think it's kind of important-here's what i've found, cause i noticed the subltle time shifts i was doing in step edit were triggering funny when it was slaved. it's a serious enough problem that i reluctantly took the time to do some tests to see where the problem was- i recorded a click off the mpc using a square wave i trimmed so the start of the wave form is ruler straight so i could line it up in the audio editor later.i recorded 8 bars of this mpc click at 97bpm(not synced, just recorded into logic), and trimmed it (using "search for zero crossings",to the beginning edge of the first click- i divided the wave into 8 bars-i used the "get tempo from object length" for each of the 8 bars-(wich is accurate to the 4th decimal) it gave the tempo as being slightly different for each bar.i did'nt expect it to give 97bpm exactly, but what bothers me is that it came up with a different tempo for each bar, (97.0225, 96.9656-ect-)the timing is almost definitly drifting -(i found this when synced via an amt8 ,wich is atari tight- both slaved and master,as well). this means if you don't track all your mpc tracks into your daw simultaneously , for example,if you bounce them into your daw using only the digital out one by one,even if you line them up with a sync pop, they can't line up together as they would when playing back together simultaneously. the feel of the mpc is compromised. if it were a thing that was unnoticeable, i would'nt mind, but it can be really noticeable- they addressed a timing problem in an earlier update, wich aknowledges there's been an issue before- i hope they get this licked -
