Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

Would anyone know if the 2500 could be modified in anyway so that a VGA card or similar could be used to allow it to connect to a large screen.

I'm not here to start a debate on the merits of having a 19" display, but this is for practical reasons. I'm a Music Tech lecturer and i'm having an extra studio built that's gonna have about 12+ MPC's (prob 2500's) along side Mac's and Logic/Pro Tools, so this is for teaching purposes only.

I'm a big MPC fan, having used them professionally for over 10 years and Akai samplers in general since the late 80's, so I just want to display a MPC screen over a large area to aid learning.

I know a few electronic wizards who could probably do it, if it's pos. I remember the MPC 3000 used the IB-CRT card to allow it to connect it to a VGA screen 10 years ago.

If it's just for you to have a bigger screen for demos when lecturing, could you not hook it up to some sort of camera and projector? Then you could have a massive screen at the front of the class that all the students could see.

Try using a stand or something with a video camera faced downward at the mpc screen, live feed into a projector.

You could program, create and teach while the class watches on screen.

My sentiments exactly.
