MPC-2000XL/ASR-10/MBOX2&PROTOOLS/GATEWAY PC

wut up yall...quick question...

im thinkin bout gettin an asr-10 mainly for basslines n probably samplin too n hook it up to my mpc wit da asr bein da slave...then i want to be able to hook up my mpc to da mbox2 so i can mix everything on pro tools.....

I already have da mpc n pro tools wit da mbox.....if im plannin on gettin da asr, wut do u recommend i should get so dat everything can run together.....if u dont understand wut im tryina say....just ask me to make it more clear....thanks a lot

thanks...i been really thinkin bout gettin dat asr but i get some ppl tellin me its worth it n then i get ppl tellin me its da worst piece of equipment ever....so i dont really kno wut to do...n its not like i can try it out n return it in 30 days if i dont like it since they dont sell em at da stores anymore i think....plus i wanna make sure i can do wut i wanna do wit them before i spend da money.......im really havin trouble findin out wut i need to track out my beats into my comp usin MIDI...ps. i just bought my mbox 2 off ebay so it will come soon so i havent really messed wit it yet

If I afford to get an ASR I would

ASR10 kills the 2kxl. But that's my opinion.

asr10 is a STILL a very good keyboard. But maybe you should go for something more up to date. If money is a factor then get the asr10, it can more than do the job you need.

yea das da situation....money is a big factor...i still need to buy some other things like da 8 outs for my mpc...n a 16track i hope....but i dunno...wut do yall recommend for trackin purposes?

the asr-10 and ANY mpc, makes one hell of a combination... i mean damn, the shyt you can do on the asr alone is worth havin one, but team that up with a mpc and you can make heat forever... be sure to get that SCSI option for the asr-10 and the latest OS, which is 3.53, you won't be sorry...

You about a week too late homie.. I just sold mine to DJDynasty. BTW I did post it in the Gear for Sale forum. Check on craigslist.org and eBay. You can usually find them there. A word of advice though; don't settle for one that's broken/damaged in any way. Alot of people try to sell 'em with stuck/broken buttons and keys, digits missing from the display. Find one in good condition and cop it, even if you have to buy the SCSI shyt separately.

What is the big deal about the Asr-10? Other than the fact that it has keys, what does it have to offer that cannot be achieved on the 2000xl?
