mpc3000, your ZIP disk is partitioned then, right? I was told that partitioning was the necessary workaround for avoiding reaching the file limit and potentially rendering unused disk space useless.

MPC1000 is using FAT16 file system. FAT16 stands for File Allocation Table, and 16 is for 2^16, which is the number of files it can have reference to. It comes up to : 64536 files. This is more then enough. To excede this limit on a 2GB CF card, you will need 64536 files and all of them must be smaller then 32.5kb. So, theoreticaly it is possible, but in practice it is hard to acheve.
