Hi,

I'm a french user of an MPC2500, and I have a problem. I've just put on my MPC, and when I want to load a specific sequence, wich worked yesterday, it displays "Wrong File".

I tryed to load a backup that I (hopefully) made yesterday night, but no way, "Wrong File".

I'm telling this because it's not the first time....

I've got a Hitachi Travelstar 80Go in it (the last on the recommended list).

Please, help !!

But when i load they all will load in Blue Box without a problem??? Puzzled as to why some work, and others dont on the 2500..But all where made and work fine in Blue Box!

think this is a bug in the current OS, i think its to do with a corrupted wav file, thats what i found out when i was sending all the files across over usb. it wil tell you which one is corrupt, so just replace it with the backup one and its good to go. hopefully this will be resolved soon. i you are having bug problems please go message Spirez with your name and serial code on bottom of your mpc and be added to the petition thats going to AKAI to try and fast track these bug problems.

peace

I just found a solution for my program file errors message...I made a bunch of subfolders for everything, and now everything is loading up fine!

FILE NOT FOUND & WRONG FILE are typical & frequent under OS 1.1

Send your circumstances to akai. This is the only way to speed up a fix.

can anyone actually reproduce this consistently, or is it random? If we could send them a 1,2,3 BAM kind of list, that would help.

"typical & frequent under OS 1.1" => So if I put the old OS, will it work well ??

......from akai

Hello Marc,

What model hard drive did you install in the MPC2500? This is not something that we’ve ever experienced in Technical Support or over the phones/e-mail. I have approx. I have 27 folders in my Root directory; all containing many folders/programs/samples/sequences… no problems.

Did you try re-initializing the MPC2500 by powering up while holding in the [ERASE] button for just a few seconds?

Hope to read you soon,

Subject: Akai MPC2500 Glitch

Dear Akai Tech Support and whomever,

A major issue with my 2500 have risen which is very disturbing with my 2500. Please read the post I made in response to another at mpc-forums.com website.

Please respond to me because I have heard nothing regarding emails I have already sent to Akai support address on the website. Serial# K10509021900460. Plus I have this dark line

going down the middle of the screen of the 2500 and it wasn’t always like that. My machine never moves and is well taken care of. I turned it on and there it was. Does this need to be replaced?

I also have been getting the "wrong file" error message when I load programs that have been changed and re-saved. It drives me NUTS...

Yo this **** happened to me today! Luckily I backed up most of my stuff but I still lost some good ish!

I loaded a folder and the program file was corrupt. In program mode the instruments I used wasn’t there instead it was a bunch of mumble jumble with crazy Lvl,Tune,Range values. And this was for pads I wasn’t even using also. So I rebuilt the program with the same instruments and the same happened. I went to create another folder to save it in, within that same root folder and it froze. I couldn’t delete it. I usb'd the machine and transferred files I could save. During this process my computer would not transfer the corrupt programs and files alike, but it still would not delete that new folder that froze my 2500. during this process some of my wavs that I have reloaded many times to play ended up corrupt thus the sstorchhh I used in that program was corrupt needless to save unsalvageable. I lost data and many folders that was built IN THAT 1 ROOT FOLDER

To tell you the truth I think it has something to do with how many folders I had in a root folder. Too much. I had over 20 and some of the folders had way too many .wav files in it from me not creating programs particularly for that sequence(s). I would have unnecessary programs & .wavs saved to the folder because I may or may not have used a .wav from it that I was using for the sequences created.

I don't do that now but I used to and I believe that is the case.

New rule:

No more than 10 folders in one root folder now, along with only saving the wavs I used in it and nothing more (of course).

Those that I saved like that were when I was learning the machine but I really know better now.

I called Akai support and the dude didn’t know dik! None the less I reformatted my HD and fixed the program that corrupted in the middle of me saving.

It's for the best. Fresh start with only the files I use and saving new work properly. Hopefully this wont happen again.
