My Gear, Tell me what you guys think, and a question that I

Hi, Im brand new to this forum and pretty new to producing but I needed an opinion from you guys. My brother has a studio that I used to mess around at and produce in but diddnt know much, well for the last couple years I have just known that what I wanted to do was produce hip hop. So after some research I went out and bought an MPC 2500, a Fantom X6, Rp5 speakers, my friend hooked me up wih a pretty good mixer, and I have a planet phatt sound modgule. So tell me what you guys think of this set up. Is it a good professional quality set up, or am I maybe missing something. I know I am for sure missing a mac, and pro tools but Ill be getting that pretty soon. The music is coming along extremely well but I obviously have some work to do.

Well the real question I have is I want to get my beats from the mpc to the computer to burn them onto a cd but I have no Idea how. Basically I bought an M-Audio Mobilepre Usb. But I am not sure what to connect to the preamp,if I go out of the mixer or what? to record the sound. I am using sound forge to record but I dont know how to record it from there either. I just wanna be able to connect it and record in real time or whatever, but I cant even get sound from the mpc to come out of my computer. Aaahhhh Im so cunfused, whoever can help it would be greatly appreciated...

I cant answer your question but i was just wondering which parts of the X6 you use?

Just the sounds and the keys or do you sequence/sample with it too? I'm debating about whether or not to save up for one or just get the rack version.

I like the fact it's got 8 audio tracks and that skip-back sampling feature and the nice screen but it could be overkill for me.

Yeah, to be honest I basically use it for the sounds and the mixer. I am planning on using the sampler at some point cuz it samples through a mic, which means I could get madd creative with what I do. But I probably use about 1,100 of the 2,000 right now lolll. The sounds on that things are straight bananas. Ill post up some beats when I figureout how to get the onto my comp.
If anyone could help with how they put their beats onto comp it would help....

Cool, i think i'll probably go with the rack version then, for now at least.

I'm not familiar with the mobile pre, but I am pretty sure that you would want to connect the outputs of your mixer to the inputs of your mobile pre.
