Please help me!! Screen's gone blank!!

Just got home today and turned on my mpc only to find the screen has gone blank. It still lights up and all the pads still make sounds etc it's just that nothing can be seen on screen. I dont know what to do...i'm well upset! My mpc is out of warranty, is this going to cost me a bomb to fix? or is there anyway of rebooting machine to fix it or whatever?
someone please help...i'll be eternally grateful, i dont know what i'll do if i cant make beats.

try hitting shift/spinning the data wheel both ways to adjust the contrast. if this doesn't work, vst sells screens, but i doubt your screen has gone dead. they're built to outlast basically everything else on the 1k.
