you can change the bpm of the sequence or you can do the time stretching.

pay attention to how many beats are in the piece that youre sampling.
if theres 2 or 3 beats, its not fitting a 4 bar loop no matter how much you stretch.
count beats while youre sampling.

see im haven really hard doin that.see the first thing i do is open up the sample page then sample.then go back to the main screen.play the sample rite.then i go to the trim screen chop it or what not maybe ill loop it or somthin.so when i go back the main screen ready to record the sample in to a sequence ..il set a tempo for example 92.0. the sample is either to short or to long.im guessin when u sample sumthin u got 2 find out the tempo of that sample then build ur drum pattern around that sample..i usually start of with 4 bars.sume one told me u got 2 tap the tap tempo buttton along with ur sample.so u can find the bmp.but my problem is how fast do u tap the button so u can have the mentrone in sync with ur sample so u can find the tempo for the sample??? I KNOW THIS IS REALLY LONG SO I EXPECT ONLY THE PROS CAN ANSWER THIS ONE>..

i get your point. I didn't even know what a bar was when i started out using the mpc.
try looking on the net for a loop with information about how long it is, and what the bpm is and download them. Most loops on sample cd and shit are either 2 or 4 bars long and have the bpm in the name or something.
If you can't find anything, or can't figure it out, i can e-mail you some 2 and 4 bar loops at 100 and 90 bpm for instance so you get a feel for what's going on.

Why dont you just count them.....4 Timed foot taps from the down beat (kick) = 1bar.

Use the tap tempo feature in the MP to get the BPM match as close as possible then manually adjust it till it fits like a glove>>Make sure the sample is all trimmed and an looking pretty tho

NB. Tap the 'Tap Tempo' button on time to the sample....As if you were doimg a bar count

What do you sample from? If its from a funk group or whatever humans tend to go off time a lot so sometimes if I can't get the sample to fit or it goes off timing I cut the sample at the start of each measure to make 4 seperate samples off of the one than have the one I hit cut off the previous sample's play. This helps to push that initial hit to where its supposed to be at the 1st click of each measure which often but not always corrects the timing problem. pz
