Actually, yeah I do, but not in that spot. I just moved the stuff there to take a pic. I make beats wherever, but I prefer on the floor now. I just take a bunch of records and sprawl em out around me within arms reach and get to working.

I like my sound minimalist, so why not have my gear that way? It works better for me like this.

Science...I just found my preferred way of working and it's like this. I might add a Micro Korg later on for bass and whatnot, and that's all I'm gonna need. I still got my DPS 12 and my KRK's and vestax mixer and mic and all that if I want to use something more like a "set-up", but for now this is what I rock. Simplicity...makes life easier.

but in the real, its very easy.

the connections are simple. Its the settings on the hardware thats complex. One wrong setting and you're whole chain wont work.

i used to have problems figuring out how to connect everything together but you get hip after some time doing it. just gotta picture it in my head how it goes and i can set it up with no problem. yea the settings and getting everything connected would probably be the biggest problem i've had...

Same to me. It needs some reading and practicing, but in the end MIDI is easy and very handy... If you want to control hardware, you'll need it. But if you work only with audio, no need for MIDI. Mastering MIDI gives you an advantage, though...

yeh i know that, i spose i just got stiuck in my ways a bit, i'l need to get into midi more if i wanna improve.

i wouldnt even say that though...you dont HAVE to adopt the whole MIDI thing if it dosnt benefit your workflow. if it aint for you then stick with the audio thing..

but MIDI can do great things for you once you learn how it all works..all up to you and your flow i guess

I use that same controller (oxygen with my MPC, Reason, pro tools M-powered and ableton live thru a delta 1010lt soundcard. Midi is not confusing other than at the start. Once you learn it, it is simpler and easier than sampling straight into your MPC. If i wanna sample something ? boom into my PC, get the chops in Pro tools Boom into Reason, set the channels on the Mpc,keyboard,reason than pro tools channels and i'm ready to play the sounds on either my MPC pads or on the keyboard. along with that, at the same time you'll still able to record straight into the MPC and add sounds that way too. here's some pics of my shit. if u click that link it links you to my school home page you can download a pic on the left side if u scroll down. the pic comes up too big if i just put it straight in the thread.
