3rd party ram ?

Hi,

I have a new MPC 2500 on the way and am wondering if the 2500 supports 3rd party (non-akai) ram expansion as per the MPC 1000 ? Since both machines handle the EXM128 AKAI ram, I just assume the 2500 would.

Can people post their experience? Apologies if a thread for the 2500 exists ....I couldn't see any mention in the mpc1000 thread.

Yeah you can use any RAM that can be used in the 1000 so check out the sticky and there are quite a few choices. It needs to be 256mb ram though, as the MPC will only read half of it

the rams exactly the same, apparently when you buy official ram it comes in a 1000 box anyway. i got Kingston 256mb ram from www.ebuyer.com i think. cost about £25, and havent had any problems, works beautifully. we cant all be as lucky as Spirez and find second hand ram in the classifieds
