1st impressions...

iv had my 1st mpc for 2days now and im starting to get the hang of using it. my main probs are saving and loading programs, seq etc. ive only got the card it came with for now ansd im not sure how to format it.
makin beats on this thing feels so much more natural than on a daw. i can bash out nice loops in no time. i was expecting the data wheel to feel horrible after reading people moan about it on here but i cant see why some people complain?... it feels fine. and also the mixer is pretty good i think. iv not tried out the effects yet properly, but thats my next step. i had a lil go in chopshop but couldnt get it to work properly yet.


so yeh, im very impressed with the 2500!

Glad you like, i love more everytime i get the hang of a new trick/method etc.

You upgraded the OS yet or left it at 1.0b?

ive left it for now, but will probably upgrade it this evening.

i left mine for a few weeks to see what the differenced were, and how they effected me. dunno really tho, a lot of it isnt user viewable.

yeh i upgraded, but cant notice any difference. im getting on ok with it,just cant get chop shop to work properly

Unless you used it extensively with the first OS, you may not notice any improvements. However, there is a grocery store list of bug fixes.

i noticed a lot after i up-graded like the shift button works now i couldn't make my samples loop outside of the trim page now i can ect.
this really is an amazing machine.
i love being able to sample the main outs thats one of my fav features.

One of the things I like is that you can edit samples in the Trim menu while your sequence is playing....

I've had my MPC for a few days or so, but haven't really had the chance to sit down and have a full session with it but off top, I REALLY like:

* the 8 positioning lcd screen which allows me to lounge back a bit more when i get lazy
* the -/+ below the data wheel
* the ability to preview samples without having to load them; i hated loading long loops just to preview.
* the "handles" on the side of the unit where now, you actually have a place to pick up the MPC
* the light-up window button that actually tells you when there's a window to open
* the new design, the light-up buttons,and tons of other things i'll notice when i really find time to use this thing....

I also love that light up window button. Smart, but extremely simple, addition.

One thing that annoys the SHIT out of me, layoutwise, is the fact that they put the rec/play/pause buttons on the lower right instead of on the left like on the 2000xl. I keep trying to start things up with my left hand anf have to get all crossed up...


Stupid thing to be annoyed about, but yeah. I can be stupid.. and easily annoyed. LOL.

....my sequence seems to slow down when I play it during trim mode.....so that feature aint as correct as it should be

only problem is if you have a bunch of tracks and samples playing in a sequence and go to the trim screen you get a slow down and speed up everytime you adjust the sample

Yes..it does cause the sample to slow down and then speed back up when playing long sampled phrases. I don't remember is this function worked in the previous OS.

But I still like this function. Hopefully they can improve upon it.

none the less it is a good function, makes it real easy to adjust chop points while listening

yeah man its a good function .....just needs alittle more time in the works!
