Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have the MPC sync with Protools with the Beat Clock. MIDI should be connected correctly. When I press record and play on the MPC it says waiting on MIDI play. I press play on Protools and it starts the MPC, but the timing is slightly off when I try to record something on the MPC. I cant get the beat to match the tracks that are already recorded in protools because of this and when the MPC loops what I played it sould jacked up because the timing was off. Someone please help.

What sync method are you using MTC or MMC and is the MPC master or slave ?

Just hold the record button without the play button on the MPC and then press play on protools. If it still is out you could try adjusting the timing offset in the Midi Beat clock settings on the MPC.
One more thing, and sorry if this is obvious, make sure protools is running low latency.

Thanks guys I will try this when I get home. Any other suggestions. And hopefully this isn't a stupid question but how do you adjust the latency in Protools?

You adjust it in the playback engine settings. The setting is called playback buffer size. The lower the number the less latency but the more strain it puts on the computer.

Thanks for all of the help. The latency thing was the problem. My buffering was on the highest level. Works just fine now.
