Connecting MPC to computer..

Been meaning to sort this for a while. Basically, i'd like to connect my mpc and laptop using a usb cable and use some of these drum kits and sample packs that you can download off the internet. The problem is me and computers dont get along at all and i dont know where to start or how to do it.
could anyone out there give me a little guide as how to do this so that i can start using some of these drums etc. I think someone mentioned a program called bluebox, what is this? do i need it? As i said, i'm clueless when it comes to involving computers with mpcs. any advice would be much appreciated.

so basically, do i need to download this bluebox program yeah? If the mpc is hooked up via usb to laptop do u then use bluebox to upload the drum samples to use them? sorry for all questions, just trying to get my head round it and that...

Blue box is for making programs. If i recall correctly connect your MPC to the COmputer and your computer should recognize it as an storage device then drag and drop files to it. MPC1K users correct me if im wrong cause i dont use it.

oh right i think i get it then, computer should pick up the mpc connected via usb and i should just be able to click and drag downloaded drum samples etc straight onto mpc and start playing with them? Similar to how you'd click and drag tunes onto an mp3 player from computer?
