Using my MPC 1000 with Reason 3.0, Cubase SX 3, & E-MU 1820M

Does anyone out there have a similar or exact set up as mine? I want to be able to produce tracks in the MPC, record and edit it in Cubase, and use it as well with Reason. I have sound coming out of the E-MU 1820M (which by the way is an equivalent to the Pro-Tools HD 192), but I cannot record into Cubase. The book does not give specific instruction on how to use the MPC with the two softwares.

in cubase theres a option under vst to choose your inputs and outputs you need to make sure the motu is selected as your main input and use reason as a rewire device. run your outputs into your motu ( which has the same a/d converters as the pt hd 192 LOL thanks for that info ) and select the proper channels into cubase.

it has plenty but he confused you by saying motu instead of 1820..

you will want cubase as the 'midi master' sending midi clock to the mpc.
(because cubase won't act as slave iirc.. which sux...)

inside cubase you want to load up reason, using 'rewire'

you want your mpc to send midi notes into cubase to control instruments in cubase and reason

so plug cables from the 1820 midi out to mpc midi in, and from mpc midi out to 1820 midi in

and you want to record into cubase.. so plug from audio out of mpc into audio in on cubase

fire up the e-mu mixer software that came with the 1820
play sound out of the mpc.. look for which channel is lighting up in the software

now make sure there is a 'send' insert in that track,,,, click on it, check which ASIO CHANNEL it is set at

now go into cubase and f*** with the audio input settings, to enable/select the same ASIO CHANNEL you saw before...
