Unsure of which timestretch/pitch preset to use

I've experimented with all of them but I don't really get the sound that I'm looking for which is the original sound of the sample. Everytime I pitch up or down or timestretch the end result sounds horrible. I end up doing it on the computer and then bringing it back to my MPC. Being that there are 54 options (18 presets x A,B,C) which one should I use to maintain the original sound?

u want to change the pitch and have it remain the same tempo?

timestretching over 10% will usually mess up the sound pretty bad. slice it into peices, timestretch each peice, put it back together and maybe you will get better results, is it a loop?

If it sounds bad it sounds bad, if it sounds good it sounds good. If you are not happy with the result of timestretching and pitching within the MPC 1000 you do right by processing in your computer.
The timestretch / pitch algorithms give rather bad resluts in most cases and switching the presets don´t make it either better or worse in my experience. That might be me using mostly dirty and noisy samples which artifacts might be disturbing the analysis of the sample, maybe clean sounds are more prone to come out right.
If you want to maintain the original sound I supose you have to flip the presets and their settings until you get a result you´re happy with. Keep in mind that presets names are supposed to indicate which kind of sample the preset works best on.

I know the adjust feature is for fine tuning, but how do you when you need to use it?

I thought it was 15%.

usely you drop down to 10% nomore no less, presets you have to adjust accordlingly, let's say you have a drum loop or sample. Use Music 3 Preset highest but perfect.
