Sampling while Sequencing

pardon me if the following question has been asked before, i wasnt able to find that on the forums..:

is it possible to sample something external while oyu sequence it with your mpc 1000?

lets say you sequence an external synth with you mpc 1000, and you want to record it, so you can free up the synth for some other sounds..


is that possible..?

Yes, it is definitely possible, I do it all the time.

when you go into your record screen just have the sequence you want to play ready and push play it will start you then push record and make sure its on the analoug or digital input ( main outs will just resample ) then lay down your sample. It will still have to be added to your sequence but if your worried about timing or want to do live scratches this is the way.
