MPC 4000 - no warrenty???? Please Help.

Hey, im thinking of buying an MPC4000 second hand.

The only thing is it doesnt come with any kind of warrenty. Is this a big risk on an mpc ? Or are they so reliable that this is not really much of a risk? Also What are the kind of serious problems that might occur that would be hard for me to repair without warrenty?

Only thing I can say is that I got my MPC 2000XL MCD second hand and it's treated me just fine, however the studio I work at has got a 2000XL (Old school grey) and a 4000 and the 4000 has been the only one which needed to be replaced.

cauze thing is i would get an mpc-2000xl for allot cheaper - seems like a damn good relaible machine, but the sound is a bit thin for my ears.

The sound is only goin to sound like what u do with it. U work the machine remeber that.

wouldnt really depend on wether the mpcs are built good in your situation. would depend on how it was treated by its previous owner.

i bought my 2000 used and I havent had any major problems in the couple years i had it.

I haven't bought any new gear in over 10 years but I do have a 4k.....no problems at all so far....

Very true...the 4000 in the studio was used like a 40 yr old hooker...good luck.

yeh i know but ive heard lots of tracks made with the 2000xl and they sound thinner and cleaner in general, thing is a like kinda more thumpy dirty sound that i thinkl be easier to get on a 4000 (and the 4000 is a good deal- still gotta go chek it out). also the 4000 is more compatible with computers which i been using mostly so thatl help me make the transition
