loopin

hi, right i have mastered chopping, good at chopping up drum parts to get the individual hits.

what i am looking to achieve now is to master looping,. i know how to loop, the problem is my timing, either to short // too long cant seem to get in the middle., any tips?

It can be frustrating to get a phrase loop to fit a sequence your working on. Here’s a tip.Instead of starting with the sequence and making the phrase loop fit the sequence, make your sequences fit the loop. At the beginning of the sequence trigger the sample as usual with the sequencer. Use your Tap Tempo button to tap along with beats of the phrase loop. By using the Tap Tempo button this will adjust the sequence to match the tempo in the sample. Try this until tempo and loops are locked real tight."(soundcrafting)

tell you what im having problems getting anything to loop! on the mpc 2k,. is there anything you would reccomend starting with? ie a simple break or something? I have used reason in the past and can work that ok, but with the mpc im having to do all the work!!

just get it in the right ballpark...

then adjust the tempo in 0.1bpm steps until u find what works!

Correct. After doing it alot your ears will get better at determining a samples tempo. Trust me.
