need advice on the best cf cards for the 2kxlmcd,what size and formating tips.
i recently bought a 2kxl and ordered a mcdkit offline.i have aG4 running OSX and just wanted to know the best flash cards(compatible)for the MCD
??brands and sizes??
i should get the kit in the mail tomorrow and there will probably be a list of compatible brands and sizes with it.i also got a USB reader for my mac
and i've read posts and replies about formating the cf cards on the PC.
does the same thing go for mac??
any tips you can shoot me as far do's and dont's will be greatly appreciated
i also picked up a scsi cd rom today to load sounds in to the 2kxl.so the plan is to sample from vinyl and use the cd rom to get the sounds in and then save to the cf for ongoing projects and live set.and record through my onyx into logic.and again, any insight you can give would help??

I use 3 Thomson 1GO CF CARD.
With a Mac, you can format directly the CF with your usb CF reader/writter, it's recognized like a HDD.

If you've a problem with your CF, you can use the HP tool:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/hpcpqdt/us/download/20306.html

.Format your CF with that.
And After the CF will be recognized as 1Go in your MPC2kxl.
Peace

I got some SanDisk SD cards. Love 'em. They are so damn small, I feel like james Bond whenever I go to load up some sounds 8)

Plus, no pins on the SD cards like the CF have, and (most) Sd's have the write-protect switch on 'em.
