**** this machine.

I'm sick of losing samples while working for no reason whatsoever.

I'm sick of HORRIBLE midi time lag in my sequences.

I'm sick of constantly having to shut my machine off in order to retrive a drum loop loaded through usb.

But mostly I'm tired of wasting entire days of my life making music and having it destroyed.

The more i dig into my mpc, the worse it gets.

Straight up for sale: mpc 2500.

i hope thats not how your going tolist it on ebay lol, nah i feel ya bruv, it is annoying, but there are methods you can use to minimise your problems, and the os will get here eventually, i think Spirez thread to get everyones names and serial codes so we can send a comprehensive list of people demanding a quick fix for some of these urgent problems, perhaps a beta or somethin.

What kind of methods are there to minimise the timing lag?

Yeah i hit spires thread up already. It gets pretty unuseable, and I'm just talking about internal samples.

Thinking of just going back to the xl as much of a dinosaur as it is.

ok i dont understand why your gettin lag, not heard anyone else with that problem, but the rest can be dealt with, up to you bruv, go with what feels best

Yeah,but despite all of us sending in our problems/erials we haven't heard nuffink back from them - have we? What a bunch a ships anchors.

To be fair the thing is like a saviour to me right now, my pc is f*cked.

The bugs are annoying but i haven't really suffered with them.

about the white noise after dismounting usb, it's quicker and easier to buy a card reader for the pc and transfer the files to cf card. that way you dont have to touch the usb function until the bug is fixed.

Plus USB 2.0 transfer is wuicker so it's less hassle!

i aint had any of those probs yet but i havent really got that far with my mpc yet, maybe i'l be moaning in a couple of weeks!

News to me. I haven't experienced any of these problems.

As far as bugs beimg reported....there are not many being experienced by ALL users on this site..or at least they are not reporting them here. Most of the so called bugs are user errors or features not implemented in this MPC yet. If a certain function/feature is not in the manual (no matter how much you want it..or if it was in an 2000/XL) it is not a bug.

Now if you have some reproducable bug..throw it up in a thread so we can all take a shot at it...to trouble shoot the problem.

If not, just send us the link to your eBay auction. I will give you $1000 for it which will be more than enough to get you an XL and a maybe a sound module

After reading that, I'm going from the 1000 the 2kxl INSTEAD of the 2500. I'm also tired of the bugs of the 1k. The 2kxl may be a little limited, but at least it doesnt crash and go to hell in front of my eyes.

i've only seen the 1k crash from the new folder bug, and apparently the same happens with the 2500.

unusable? no, i don't think so...just give it time. the 2500 is gonna be a champion in its own time. for low cost samplers, the 1000 already is.

just wait for the 2500's version of the os 2.0 for the 1k....it WILL come, and when it does, the 2500 will be unspeakably cool.

Dose you 2500 have a Hard Drive?? How much Ram?

Seeing that you are one of the few that are having these problems, I would look into your MPC for possible hardware problems. Ram can definitely do things like this to your machine. Bad ram will make machines look normal but operate poorly.

If you did install akai ram, remove it and see if this is your issue.
Also do you have a harddrive?
My first MPC 2500 acted crazy when I installed a harddrive in it. I had it replaced for a new one by Akai.

The MPC is pretty stable, minus a few bugs left. The 4000 went through the same thing. They will be fixed in upcoming OS’s.
I don’t think you should throw it out just yet.

i'm also in the 'window shopping' category..thinkin about upgrading from the 2000xl to the 2500..but the more i read about it and all its bugs, the more im thinkin that the 2500 was a clever marketing ploy rather than a serious step up from the previous model. any comments? opinions?

i upgraded from the 2000xl. the ram and HD alone was worth it for me.

I would take that ALL means several bugs? Can you name a few so this info will get to the right people to improve this OS?

No HD and no akai ram, I forgot the model but i know it's one Sparq recomended in his post on compatable 3rd party stuff.

Maby i'll try swapping the ram. This midi timing thing just started. All i have going is like 2 tracks and no external midi. I guess i'll try to duplicate it. Thanks man.
