i layed down my 4 bar sequence of snares,it took me a few overdubs to get it perfect......now when i go to the pad mixer page and turn that pad down, pieces of my sequence disappears.....the snares don't turn down, they just vanish..and not all of them disappear, just the ones from the most recent overdub.....any suggestions on how to fix this?

unrelated question:how do i layer notes on my mpc4000?

dissapearing?

i've had times where something similar would happen....

the volume on one of my snares was too low (in TRIM mode) and the trk volume was also too low and it made the snare sound shorter then it really was. i just turned the volume up and recorded the snare over with full level. solved the problem. dont know if thats the problem you're having or not...

i layer notes in the sample edit page. sample - edit - scroll through options and you see a section for layering. it'll ask you which samples to layer and for their volume level. just tweak till its right. if thats not clear enough let me know.

lol ,yeah i'm pretty sure......not all the drums disappear, just certain ones.....say in my 4 bar sequence i have a 4-snare pattern,1,2,3,4......well once i move the volume it plays back 1,2,4......and it leaves a gap where 3 was

Do you split your tracks? Maybe you have another note on the same track that you trigger around the same time as the snare, causing it to cut off.

Even if everything is split right, I can't say why the snare disapeared, but it shouldn't be hard to replace your snare on another additional track, then everything should be good again.

Check to make sure your snare is not assigned to a "Mute Group". This is one of the keygroup settings in the "multi" menus...
