recording the mpc

o.k ive got my first track together, whats the easiest way to record it to disk, ive checked the manual but it aint too clear, and ive tried a search on these forums but the **** i can get the searches to help.

If it's not too long and you have the memory expansion, the easiest way is probably to resample the Main Outs, cut it properly, and save it to the internal HD or Flash card. Then you have it as WAV file you can play or compress.

Record to disk? CD or HD?

Once you have your song completed, resample it so it is just one wave file. Then it is ready to burn to CD or save on the Hard drive.

What exactly do you mean by "resample"? Do you mean, play it as a full sequence/song through the outs to an external recording device... then sample it back into the machine as one large wav?


I kinda assumed that you could just burn the song/sequence as a wav file onto the CD-Burner internally, without having to take that extra step of using the external recording device as a middle man, so to speak.


I mean..whats the point of the CD burning drive otherwise, except as data storage?

The 2500 has an option to record from the Main Outs instead of the inputs...so recording what it is playing without having to route it through a mixer with an additional DA/AD conversion.

I really don't know

I don't think the 2500 has a function to directly render a song to CD. You will have to resample, and then burn it.
