i've done that by ear already, but thanks anyway man! i mean there is a limit with mpc, how many sounds it can playback in a beat, and with new os its lower than with the old os.

So you mean that Akai had lowered the former 32 voicec polyphony in the new OS? That sounds highly unlikely, and I won´t swallow it as a fact until I it comes from them or through exact testing from several users who explain their metods and results of testing.
As it´s still marketed as a 32 voice machine I assume you losing samples is a problem of another nature than lowered polyphony.

multi track recording --------- example

shift plus record brings you into the record track screen where you then pick which pad goes to what track. sometimes i play the kick snare and hat all at once and would like them on diffrent tracks this would be useful to me.

i talk only by my experiences, when i've been re-doing the beats i did with old os, i've also noticed that some instruments/elements dont play as they did with last os. cut in the middle, or some track just mute. like they are too heavy or something. that's why i say the limit is lower.

i figure the mpc could have a lot more potential with the features it already has if they were implemented better. i'm relatively new to the mpc's - the mpc1000 is my first mpc - so im not quite sure what is taken for granted regarding the workflow of people using the mpcs.

anyway, i'd like to point a couple of issues and wishes. feel free to comment.

- multitrack recording: currently the mpc writes every midi event that it recieves to the track that is selected at the time. a better way would be to write to the track that corresponds to the midi channel of the event. another option would be to have a function that demixed the events by their channel to separate tracks. you could move/copy/merge those later and make use of them. that way the mpc would be a lot more useful in a studio with a computer sequencer, making bouncing sequences on and off the mpc a breeze.

- program settings: a way to change and control parameters of all pads of a program in one go. could be done like having a program settings screen that all pads inherit from (lfo and filter settings etc)

- the issue with usb: it's silly to have to unplug the mpc.

anyway, it's almost becoming an essay so id better stop. i'm really liking the mpc and i can afford the patience but not many "casual" people do and that may drive them away from buying one.

just fix the bugs akai and please one thing recording of mutes ,,
