order this a couple of days ago

got it this morning

when i put it in my 1000 and turn it on - the screen just stays blank...

any ideas?

looking at the memory, the blocks on the chip are divided into two - so theres 8 small blocks on each side - is that the trouble?

Following Penfolds instructions on RAM i bought this one:

It's a Samsung RAM. Specs read like this: 256 MB SAMSUNG PC133 CL3 256MB LAPTOP SD-RAM 144PIN.

The Serial No. on the RAM Module is: SAMSUNG K4S560832E-UC75

Well Today the Module arrived... and: UNLUCKILY ITS INCOMPATIBLE...
I Could Post the error COde if somebody might wanna tell me why ;)

SO JUST IN CASE SOMENODY WANTS TO BUY RAM... DONT BUY ESPECIALLY THIS MODULE FROM SAMSUNG....

Ok so let me get this right. If i but the AKAI 128mb ram my mpc will actually give me 128mb, BUT if i but ram from a differnt company i gotta but 256 in order for it to give me 128mb?

The Akai EXM128 is really 256mb, so you can either spend alot of money on that or buy third-party 256mb ram that's been tested by others here. Just read this thread from the first page and you'll know exactly what your options are.

if u read my post above u'll see that NOT ALL 3rd Party RAMs are compatible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no, the akai ram only has 128MB all the chips are on one side. the mpc reads only one side. this is why, if you buy any other make of ram, you have to buy 256MB. these have 128MB on each side, but the mpc only reads one side (ie 128MB).

I can recommend 7dayshop.com if your in the UK for CF cards.
They are CHEAP and quick delivery and cards work fine.

the cf card should work, but can't be certain on the ram, if you want to be sure, then go for one of the named ones in this thread.
