Why all of you always wondering if a new model will come out?? First of all, when you're not sure don't post any topic tellin' everyone "Wow,a new mpc is comin' out,i heard it on the _____forum!!" The second reason, looks like a question to you (whatever mpc model you own):You're not happy with your machine? And for not be misunderstood,i'm always askin' about new MPCs,o.s and simply anything that has to do with this machine. But,you must be sure of waht you're talking about. BTW: i'm verry happy with my 6000XL! No!! It's not a new mpc model it's just my 4k and 2kXL combo,so don't post anything about that!!!!

well, why not?
the MPC 4000 (and the MV too) is too overspecced and oversized for my production style, and the 1000 simply isnt advanced enough...

something in the middle would be fine for me, so, that could be the mysterious MPC 2500.

Today i got a advertisement brochure in a music store here in tokyo, and what did i see? a japanese Cat i know personally is listed as a MPC user (he has 3(!) 2000XLs, uses them like turntables when playing live), and talks about how he uses it for his Electro/Techno Stuff..
I have to ask him if he has any connections with Akai, maybe he can find out if the 2500 will be reality...;)

To Mr Lecter:i love my old 2K, i won't buy a 2 Kxl cos' it's not enough different but why not a 2500, if it's the "just middle".....

the 1000's more advanced than the 2kxl in many ways.

so you can think of it as a middle model.

i don't see akai bringing anything new out for atleast another year or more.

even then it will be a new big workstation...followed by a newer affordable unit (maybe 1.5 to 2 years from now).

so looks like technically the MPC 1000 is the indirect replacement of the 2000 line...period.

it makes sense to me.

Well, Roopesh, i know what you mean. Basically the MPC 1000 is really cool, but like MPCvore said about the 2000 compared to the 2000XL, those few features that were added dont really tempt me to buy the new thing. The MPC 1000 is a small version of the 2000 with some extra features and a good price.

I think there is really a large gap between the 2000/1000 Engine, and the 4000 overkill one.

A product in the middle range would be quite appropriate in my view.

maybe the 2500 could be to the MPC 4000 what the 1000 is to the 2000XL, a smaller/cheaper version with some "Pro features" removed.

it's not so easy to understand what you wanted to say in the first place..and i dont quite understand why you wanna make up rules about which kind of topics are to be discussed here, and which not...as you see, there is an interest in the eventual "MPC 2500"..Maybe it will never get released, but anyway, this is an MPC forum, and this is somehow more of an MPC topic than some other stuff i read here sometimes..

I just don't want people talkin' about something that's not for sure, that's all.If you want to discuss about that go ahead and post whatever you heard in every forum in the world.By the way,i only post my opinion and i don't want to "make" any rules here.I understand your interest for any new that got to do with the MPC range, sorry anyway.Peace

I know it's annoying sometimes but every has their own opinions and thoughts, seems like you already understand that though... OK, yeah you don't want people talking about fictious and fantasy MPC's it but it's GOING to happen anyway. I think it was a waste of your time to even mention that cause it's going o continue to happen anyway.. In fact you even helped it along with your 6kxl bit.. Realize, recognize, live, learn, move on..
