Metallic Sound...

Hello,
I've got a problem with Time Stretch and Pitch Shift : when I used one of those functions, the result always sounds metallic... I don't know what I do wrong...

Any ideas

your overdoing it, try making smaller adjustments

or try tuning it first then changing the pitch or timestretch

dont forget to check my signature

I tried to down the pitch like -01.00 I don't think it's too much... no?

its not the tune thats causing the metallic sound its the timestretch or pitch function if u overdo it

Sorry, I mean I've time-shifted my sample down -01.00...

the timestretching on this thing is pretty crap unless your going for the metallic timestretch effect. also ive never heard any difference between the different algorythms. it also sounds like it reduces the sample rate stretch stuf down and it puts stereo samples into mono. has its uses, but you can definately hear the stretching.

So the sampling part of this groovebox is useless.

It's my first MPC, and I swear I will never buy Akai again !!!! Timestrechting and pitch shifting are useless, they are major save bugs....

I dont have a problem using my pitch shift or timestretch when used correctly

I must admit i expected the algorithms to be better but it's far from useless.

I used to work on an Emu ESI32 (good ol' times ) and I've never met this metallic sound problem, which I have ANYTIME I use this MPC2500.

its not really a secret

just experiment you'll figure it out

it can be used u just shouldnt overdo it

when u hear the crazy noise it usually means u over did it

It seems you didn't read what I wrote...

maybe you should stop wining and start trying to do some trial/error with the timestrecht/pitch option

it's kinda lame to say to never buy akai again just because you can't work with the timestretch..
