Is there a way to Solo a Pad?

What's good people

back from Vacationing in the real world. I have a quick question It might be in the book but...I would like to be able to Solo a Pad It would help me greatly when I'm tracking my Sh%T out. Anywayz is this possible, and the ultimate question How you do dat dere!

Why not just mute the other sounds being used? Inless u recording all your stuff on one track. If u doin separate tracks for each sound then mute the ones u dont want to hear.

Well as matter of factly as you put it I could JUST do that . However this my first MP ever Hence the name (newmp) I know sh@t about sh@t about these things. I read about muting the other tracks but didn't see the value of the feature. I guess now I know I have homework to do Thanks a Lot!

you could go into the track mute screen, hit solo (F6) and press the pad/track u want to solo

this only works when u have each sound on a track of its own

I didn't mean muting tracks My Bad I actually was referring to muting the other sounds

I been reading this manual no help. How can I Mute the other sounds being used. For Example I have 1 track with a Kick and snare but i only want the kick to play, How can achieve my goal.

is this even possible?

prior to me posting this thread I've been putting indiv. sounds on tracks F@#$ that! it's killing my flow Pleeze Help

I have all my drums on a separate track.

Just copy the existing track to a new one then go into overdub mode and hold erase + the pad you want to get rid of. Let's say you erase the kicks from this new track.

This will leave you with a track full of snares, so then go back to your original track and erase all of the snares from it.

Et voila, separate sounds on separate tracks so you can mute as you feel free!

Have u tried that. Also to mute tracks well on da 2k i just turn the tracks off so they dont play. Thats all done on the main screen but i dont know how it works on the 2500.

yeah I do it all the time, I was assuming that he had everything on separate tracks if you get what I'm saying

if he doesnt he wont be able to do it, cuz it will mute everything else on the track also

with the 2500 u dont even have to overdub and play all the way through while holding erase

he can just press the erase button while the seq. is not playing and the erase screen will pop up, then he can choose the approriate track and hit whatever pad or pads he wants to erase from it and press do it

its just a quicker way if you dont feel like holding erase and the pad while the whole seq. plays through

didn't work That as we know is the screen for track mutes and as u stated yes it would only work if the sounds were on indiv tracks
