well, my run of good luck with a fuji cf card is over. now, over half the time i load a project, i get an "End of File!" error. usually if i load it 2 or 3 more times it works out ok.

sometimes the mpc loads in something really garbled, or i'll get half of one sample mixed with half of another sample into one sample file. messed up stuff like that keeps happening.

i find it strange that no one else ever reports getting this. doesnt ANYONE else here ever get this error? anyone know what it might be about? do the cf cards get fragmented or something?

(im using the latest OS and a card reader, although it was happening even more without the card reader)

thanks in advance for your thoughts..!

From what I read somewhere, it is not a CF card problem, its the OS. It will be fixed in the next OS update v1.03.

well, looks like we moved the discussion over here.

Yea, I have had that error along with "wrong file" error and the garble file names.

I hope the 1st reply was correct about the OS upgrade because Akai had no idea what I was talking about.

I can not really work if I have to sample my sounds every day.

I went out and returned the Fuji card to replace it with the compact
flash ultra II that thing isn't work at all. at least the MPC can see it but I get the same errors as I did with the sandisk. A new error I'm getting (not really and error) It seems that the format function is only seeing or formatting a few MB's of the card. when I try to save one of the flash it sometimes says "disk full" and only show 7MB on the size of the disk (in windows)
I use a reader writer from best buy and add wav files this way and sure as sh!T nothing can be found.

anyone getting this CF reader writer to work?
"A"

After you get the End-of-File problem, or other CF problems, has anyone "backed up" their CF to the PC, re-format the CF (using windows), then copy everything back onto the CF? The MPC might not be good with the FAT tables (yet), and once those get screwed up, you need to re-format. If A_B is right and the MPC doesn't format right (yet), then use windows.

One quick question. Can you still dump samples using the USB cable from PC to MPC1k?

YES! that is what the USB is for. And please stop posting the same question in multiple topics.

Yea, I thought this as well.
I tried it a few times but still had no luck, I have been working with GC and Akai on this issue only to find out from GC that it is no longer their issue because I am over my 30days...
:x  :x
I am planning on sending it to akai now.
