Just curious if anyone messes with Indian records- Bollywood soundtracks?
They seem to me like they'd be dope as shit.
Anyone make any songs based around samples from them?

bollywood is cool, ive made some beats from it. im up on the 70s soundtracks, some of them are raw as hell. hard to find but worth it

peep survival test on the jaylib CD, thats bollywood. also 'maingirl' on the further adventures of lord quas. madlib has a few more beats that use bollywood loops but i cant remember off the top of my head

my question is the style of music- i know its indian but is it soul-ish or funk-ish
I know they wouldnt put straight up traditional sitar on 70s mainstream indian movies...?

depends man i want them for vocals like ofrah hazja she was sample for rakim paid in full and the vox on some of those tracks are just dope hit's but theres some really nice instruments sounds too.

theyre funky. the better 70s stuff is like raw funk/indian soul/pop. like anything there is some garbage interlaced but when you find the dope shit you'll know
