is there any relationship between detuning samples and pitch shift on my keyboard?
my keyboard has the ability to pitch shift 6 times in either direction and the mpc can detune up to 240 and go as low as -240.
in other words, how do i match a piano for instance with my sped up sample?

i hope my Q makes sence.
thanx.

Each unit of tuning (1.00) on the mpc = 1 semitone (ie 'half-step') on a keyboard, ie the distance between C and C sharp.

so that would mean that everytime i tune up/down 7 on the mpc, i would shift the pitch on the keyboard once up or down?
is the right?
or is it 12?

If you are talking about a keyboard that does octave shifts, it is 12

if you mean a keyboard that transposes up a given number of notes... its equal to that number....

better try it and see! :)

i was talking about the 1k, myself, maybe the others are different... also just working from memory but im pretty sure the format was eg. +xx.xx where a 1.00 would be one semitone... lemme know if that worked
