RAM Question

I just got a stick of Patriot 256 MB PC133 SO-DIMM and when it goes through BootBlock, it ives me failed (8c000000). Please Check the memory system halt....everything is installed correctly. Is it just non compatible RAM?

I followed the requirements that was listed...it just fails....so im wondering if it's the brand of ram...do i need to reset the bios....etc....

I have the same problem. And yes I have done an extensive search and the only post I can find that talks about the specific problem is this one. Not even in the one you mentioned mnh2410.

I bought exactly the type of RAM that everyone has been saying to buy. BUT I bought it from a website that stated everything but the CL3 part. I called phone number on the website and they said that it was CL3 so I bought it.

The fact is that it doesn't work and I'm going to call them and try and send it back but if anyone knows what the reason is that would help. So I can say "you didn't send me CL3" or "it is just faulty" et cetera.

do you have the information on the label of the RAM, if there is any?

you may not have the correct CL or it is very possible the RAM is bad. Did you make sure on install that you were grounded correctly?

All the label says is SODIMM 256mb but what I selected on the website was exactly what I was supposed to.

I was grounded. So I suppose like I thought before, they've either bullshitted and sent the wrong thing or it is bad.
