Chopping Shop

Alright peeps...just got my 2500 yesterday and tried to use the chopping shop function with a recorded sample but it says 'Insufficient Memory' already...WTF is that all about?! So to use that function, I have to upgrade the memory straight up..that right? Sorry if this is a dumbass question, I am new to all this!

Is the sample bigger than the memory you were trying to save it on?
Is the sample bigger than the amount of RAM you have in your machine?

Don't sample so long, sample shorter.

I'll have another go later but thanks for those tips....it probably was too long a sample...am feeling VERY thick now that I have entered into the world of the mpc!

the force is with you, just go get sum cheap kingston ram, thatl sort you out, as much as people say you can keep the 32, there aint no point when you cn have 128.

Naw...get the Akai 128MB ram designed for the 2500/1000...and call it a day..

Ok, so any ideas where I can get an expansion ram in the UK? Anyone I have seen are said to be for the 1000...can these be used in the 2500? Also, are there any cheaper alternatives?! Sorry for being completely dense

The 1000/2500 use the same RAM.

YEH BLAD, U CAN GET THE AKAI RAM FROM DV247.com or turnkey or dolphin music. i think it costs £100
