need help hookin up turntable..

If im not mistaken u have to be in the sampling mode to actually hear form the TT. You should have the TT connected to the RECORD IN and your Stereo OUTS to your mixer/monitors or have headphones connected the headphone out. (your choice)

I had my technic 1200 connected to the mixer for a long amount of time (aside from an equalizer, no other hardware is in my setup). I bought the mixer cause I was under the impression I needed a preamp to sample. Not so. I recently moved my stuff around, and I hooked up my turntable directly to the mpc, ground hook and all. The rec gain is just as high as when I had it hooked up to my pre-amped mixer. I only have the gain turned up halfway and the gain is high and crystal clear, there's no unwated hiss, everything is perfect. So with that discovery I'm looking to sell my mixer cause space and money is of essence. But...I don't want to give out wrong advice, either. So is there really a need for a pre-amp when I was able to just hook up my TT directly to the MP and get an equal gain?

Baby there is no wrong way to do anything if it still outputs the same. Get what im saying. Like there is no one way to sample. You will find a way to get around what u are doing. What kind of mixer is it? I need one for my bedroom setup. Let me know.

man mnh2410 is always on point she helped when i had problems with hooking up my turntable which now i have no problems no all i need is to learn how to sample so im reading up on that.
also my asss might be in trouble i sold my mpc on ebay for £825 but i thought the guy was a scam cus he only had one feed back plus he was all the way in chez republic (if i spelt that right) now iv spent the money and his complained to paypal) but if police get involved i will jus send it to him as im broke now but then again im a ni**a might wait to police get involved (b4 u say anything i know its deep)
man i jus thought if he was dumb enough to spend £825 in uk money which is like 1,539 dollers

Im def working on getting a MSN screen name. Yes i do all my mixing. I usually just do a premix and that is get it sort of like how i want it to sound then i'll go back and do a full mix down.

Its a multitrack recorder and can act as an mixer/audio interface and recording interface. Def love it. If u ever in South Carolina you are more than welcomed to come to da studio and check it out.

I have two setups.

A bedroom production setup and an building outback for recording/mixing. So its like i make it in my room record it in the Roland then take the roland outback and get to mixing.

I def recommend a Roland VS series recorder. I paid 1175 for my VS-2000 which came with the VGA expansion, which is great to have. You can get them for like 900-1000 on ebay sometimes but may not have the VGA expansion.

This model has USB so i can send stuff right to my laptop or computer.

P.S. Mines also came with two effect cards
