4DB Output boost for the MPC60?

i read on sonicstate.com's user reviews for the MPC60 aobut adding a 4DB output booster to it and it works for all outputs.anyone know of this or where i can get it?thanx

what would the manual have to do with an after market upgrade/modification? school me please. i checked forat.com and saw no mention of an output boost type upgrade, if anyone has any more info on this please respond. BEER20, could you please post a link?

My bad fobedafied, that's just my sig man . I gave the link to Forat so one can call and find out how much they want to perform this ungrade. I hear that it is around $200.

its about half way down.i was mostly curious that if anyone got it done ,how they liked it and was it worth it.i would think forat would list something on there site like that.i just e-mailed them to ask ,if i hear anything i'll post it here.

I get the 4db boost running my 60 through my mixer. Sounds alot better than when I used to just run it to my soundcard or monitors so I imagine so. $200 mixer or 4db booster? The coice is yours. Although the mixer will provide you with more inputs and outputs.

djames, do all mixers, amplify your signal as you mentioned?? or is there something special to look for.... it seems that a mixer would be a better way to invest $200 than just that upgrade... maybe i can just run the MPC60 into my dj mixer phono input instead of the line input.... but maybe itll be too much amplification.... imma have to try it....

well, if the sound is boosted already in the mpc u don't have to add gain in the mixer which raises the noise level the same amount...

I believe they do, I have the Behringer UB2222 and it has -10/4 db option. If your machine is -10db like the MPC 60 you just press the button and voila it is now at the same level as your 4db gear such as MPC 2000XL. That mixer is cool it has 22 channels and it only cost $250.

Raising the level in the mpc will raise noise floor too.

Go for the mixer or just opt for a compressor. You'd be better off purchasing a nice compressor for that much loot. Not only will you exceed a boost of +4db but you'll get nice compressed sound and can use the compressor for vocals, instruments etc.

can someone please explain this to me.... what does this mean:
"-10db/+4db"???? i have searched the net and found no mention of this anywhere! is the mpc60s level that much lower than most other gear??? this thread and an ebay auction are the ONLY references to this topic (-10db/+4db) that i have come across after extensive searching! i am deeply concerned with this issue because my mpc60 sounds so low after the sound is sampled... im wondering if there is a problem with my 60 or if i am not sampling correctly... would going thru a mixing board before sampling help? right now i am sampling straight from technics 1200sl, thru a Vestax pmc06(phono inputs of course), into the record input of the MPC60... after that i am going out of the MPC stereo outs directly back into the LINE INPUT of the Vestax... the MPC is always very low when monitoring... is this an issue with anyone else??? my friend uses an mpc2000(not xl) and an SP1200, and he says he uses no mixing board, but he has never had this type of problem with his levels! does the MPC60 have that low of an output compared to these other machines???

See this link above. At the bottom of the page (link) there is a brief description about using "pro" or "consumer" line levels.

And by the way that compressor is killer.
Great for compressing all the individual outs!
