I´mm trying to use the mpc on a live set.

In order to play several songs i´d need to be able to save and load them seperatly. - But i only get to load AAL Songs or one sequence.

I don´t want to convert my songs into Sequences cause i wan´t to be flexible on the set.

Is there a way....?
AKAI - where is the Load one Song with Sounds comand?????

when you convert to a sequence can you not use the track mute feature to make it more flexible ?

yes - but i can´t keep repeating parts for a long solo part - wich lenghts varies.. so keeping songs as songs would be nessecary for me (track muting in songs would be a nice new feature for akai to add, also)

 track muting already exists and they are recordable

Why don't you just save each song as a single project in its own folder?

that´s what i do - but i can still only hold ONE project in memory - or am i wrong?
It´s just no good if i have a break of 20 second during each song in a live set...

But that would be the same if you load only one song out of a whole project.
Split them up into several smaller projects, and load them accordingly, or load everything into memory at once if it fits. You won't get around that.

do i get you right - then the mpc can hold several projects in memory at one tome? this would be perfect - but i thought it can hold only one...?
My songs are around 20 mb each so it should hold about 5-6 wich would be fine...

no i just tried - the mpc will overwrite the memory if you load a new project file :-(
Why is there no load SOng with samples fuction? Am i the only one who wants to assmble sets with different prepared songs - without converting the songs to sequences?

Ok, I think I'm starting to understand what you want...

If you want to prepare different Songs with the same set of sounds/samples in memory, why not do it this way:

- Save Entire Memory once with any of the Songs in memory
- Create a new Song, and save that to a file "Seq&Songs2" for example (without all the samples and the rest)
- Repeat that for each of your Songs
- When you're live, Load Entire Memory, including the first Song, before you start
- Then you just have to load the different Seq&Song files in between...like Seq&Songs2, Seq&Songs3 or whatever you name them.

That way you won't have to load all the samples each time, which takes most of the loading time. The Seq&Song files are next to nothing in size to load.

Is that what you're trying to do?

ah yes you understand what i´m trying to do.
My Songs don´t use the same sounds - but it is possible to loade the programs into memmory beforehand.

And yes it saves time if i only load the song data - but still - as i am also the singer it´s kind of an inteeruption after each song i have to go and relaod something.

I guess there is no way around it - but i don´t get why there is no Load 8ONE) song with samples function - why are always all songs overwritten?

I bought the mpc espacial for live gigs - now i´m very dissapointed that it´s so complicated...
Does anyone know if the mpc 4000 can load individual songs (not just sequences - i know they all can do that...) ?

Ok, before we go on, let's clarify this:

Is it possible to load ALL the sounds you need for ALL the Songs into memory at once before the gig, and still have place for Sequence and Song files?

well my songs (tehier samples) are about 20mb - so i can load 5-6 in memory b4 i´d have to reload...

Well, ok...bottom line for me is, if I look at your original posting again:

You can either load everything into memory at once, if it fits, or save each song with its samples in a seperate project, or load all the samples into memory before the gig, and then only load seperate Seq&Song files between the songs. That last possibility would probably need the least loading time during the gig. And the "Load One Song with Samples" function you propose would take just as much loading time, so I don't really see the sense. In fact, that function is the same as saving a complete Song in its own project ...

Cheers,
Stilo.

hm no it´s not - you see - i don´t want to load after each song at all.

I want to prepare all songs after another - save them in their seperat folder with samples - then when i prepare the gig i decide the song order and load the songs into memory - how long it loads doesn´t matter b4 the gig.

The thing is I CAN`T LOAD INDIVIDUAL SONGS - cause each songs wipes out the previous in memory....
