I just got my MPC 2500 over the weekend. I had an MPC 2000XL before. So far I have yet to find a way to make my new MPC work with my M-Audio midi controller or my Triton rack or Proteus 2000. I might take it back to th store later this week if Akai can't get it working for me...I would say wait to get one.

Simply connect the MIDI out of the MPC to the MIDI IN of your sound module. If you have a keyboard controller, connect its MIDI Out to one of the MPCs MIDI INs and you are set.

Break out the manual and read the sequencing/MIDI sections and you should be good.

However, it is true that the latest OS corrected a major MIDI bug just to add another. You can not play MIDI notes that are too high or too low. You can only play/record approx 64 MIDI notes which corresponds to the MPCs pads.
