Okay...so you want all Songs in memory at once, but still have them saved seperately in seperate folders/projects? I see, now that's not possible indeed, you can actually not save a single Song currently...

Could be an improvement for a future update...

yes - i wonder why it´s not possible - it´s such an easy thing to add.... i hope for an update - hopefully akai reads this...
Apparently the mpc 4000 can load single songs - but then she´s to heavy to carry arround in a gigbag ...

How about converting a song back to one big SEQ. In other words copy your original SEQ. s that make up the song to a new SEq. and Chain them all together to remake the order of the song .then you would be able to load a whole bunch as long as you don't exceed the 24pgm limit.....Does this make any sense?

yes - well the reason why i didn´t want to do that is that i loose a lot of flexibilty - i like to use the hold function of a song - where one sequence is repeated until u hit the next key. This is ideal for solo imprivisations. When i convert to sewuences its like i´m playing a tape...

You can use the bar << key in the locate section it does the same thing.

that means i´d have to figure out wich bar number i maybe want to repaet - doesn´t sound very user friendly... not as the hold function in the song mode at all

..but i must say the best suggestion was to load all samples b4 and then only reload the song files - not ideal but the best 4 now.

thanks for all replies!
