when u start it up, it sais Version 1.2 IB109

i guess u could have a differant version or whatever

i dont have a pic of the scsi, but it just looks like a normal big ol scsi port

itll be a blue scsi socket, and the faceplate that came with it wil say IB-109, and itll have DIGITAL IN (both coaxial&optical)...

In case you get the IB 105 (like me), you will get a 19-pin SCSI-style connector (it´s a DMA connector to be used with an Atari harddrive), a coaxial digital input and an optical input.
To connect this interface to a SCSI drive, you have to get a SCSI/DMA connector like "THE LINK".

so you're using a regular scsi drive with your digital in using that link? I'd love to use a zip with my IB105...

ok no doubt i got the IB105
so just get the link and i can plug up my zip drive no upgrade?
plus my screen when it loads says S951.2 1536 K WORDS
the reason im asking is becuase i got it as a gift for my bday and want to know what the deal is

The IB 105 is thought of being used with an Atari harddisk drive, called "Megafile".
These drives are external devices which use a similar 19-pin DMA interface.

The DMA/SCSI adapter converts the DMA cable which is connected to the IB 105 into a SCSI cable which can be connected to a SCSI drive.

I found the Syquest 88 MB and 44 MB removable drives the only ones to be working with my S 950 by now.
Regular harddrives, Syquest 270 MB and Jaz drives can not be used with the S 950.
I think that harddrives and removable drives with a capacity of more than 60 MB can not be used with a S 950, due to the regular harddisk capacity that was common during the time when the S 950 has been developed.

I don´t know if a Zip drive is able to be used with the S 950, never tried.

with the IB109, 100mb zip drives work for me.

If you have the SCSI interface installed but the software version is not IB109 version the SCSI interface will not work. I have the software files but I don't have a EEPROM programmer yet. If you need the software hit me up.

What OS version is needed to use the IB 109?
The IB 105 can be used with version 1.0.

It's a Centronix 50-pin (on the S950) to DB25 (25-pin DIN) SCSI adaptor.
You can get cables that have the Centronix on one end and DB25 on the other; much less clumsy.
