sounds from the motif to the MP2KXL?

first off thanks to all those who helped me out on the last post! now i got one more problem.

Im tryin to figure out how to get the sounds from the motif to the MP - an example would be in the heatmakers beat video , When he added the bass line to the track. NOW what needs to be connected to get that live keyboard play recorded into the MP????

in the heatmakers vid, he just uses midi....
And he monitors with his mixer.
As far as i know there's no function to record wjile playing a sequense on the mpc 2kxl.
The mpc 1000 and 25k can do it.. I had a 1000 before the 2kxl and that's a function i really miss!

so the the bass is just controlled by the motif?? which would mean that the bass line (or bass sounds) are in the MP??

Do you want to do a beat on the mpc and then add a bassline, guitar, snyths, ect.? If so read below.

Connections/Information:Motif
MIDI OUT to MPC MIDI IN
Turn Local Control OFF
Set it up for Multi-Mode

Connections/Information:MPC
MIDI OUT to Motif IN
Turn Drum to MIDI(main screen)
Set the MIDI to 1A, 2A, ect depending on the channel u need from your motif.

Example
Motif Bass-MIDI Channel 1
MPC MIDI 1A

Motif Guitar-MIDI Channel 2
MPC MIDI 2A

Now thats it go have fun and Read the manual.
