do you have a hifi amp? if so, use that and pick up some soundcraft spirit absolute 2's secondhand.

If you're just planning on making beats and not mixing them at the moment then any speakers will do.

Sounds nice for making beats but would probably be hard to get a decent mix on them. I dont know as i dont mix my beats yet...

I'd **** them off and buy a separate hi-fi amplifier and hi-fi speakers at the very least. You'll get more osund out of them

That cambridge amp i suggested is good and has lasted me years. You'll also be able to use it with passive monitor speakers in the future.

Impossible to find decent near-field monitors that sound relatively flat/accurate and have good low frequency response for under $100. I'd suggest saving up coupla more hundred and check out KRK ROKIT 5 powered monitors. They sound good for the price, but if you into low end factor I suggest buying a subwoofer or investing in bigger monitors. Another thing you can do is, borrow subwoofer from your home's entertaiment system/ surround, if you got one. Even tho you not doing any mixing, you still missing out on sound quality by using regular computer speakers. I used computer speakers for a while myself, until got decent monitors, shit makes a huge difference. You hear sounds that wasnt there before or they sound much clearer/louder. As a prodcuer/hobbyst you should seriously consider investing in pair of decent monitors, not home based speakers.

yea man i believe u on that , but im not gettin into monitors jus yet i'll stick with cpu speakers or a sound system until i get the cash for em .

Although i do not advocate making music on regular speakers, if you need to, you can do it. Your mixes won't be perfect but once you learn the limitations of your speakers, you can get a decent mix. Alot of guess work is involved but it can work. Just always check your mixes on other systems. After awhile you get used to it. I was mixing on hi fi stuff for awhile and my mixes arn't much worse than now. Vocals, that's a different story but for beats, it's usually ok. Just don't go with a 5.1 or 7.1 setup, etc. I'd go with some decent hi fi speakers and amp over something like computer speakers so you alteast have a decent sized driver.

Unfortunately, i don't own them anymore. Pretty basic stuff though. Just what you would find off a friend upgrading their system or what you would find on craigslist. I actually have an old pioneer reciever and some speakers i got for free that sound decent. If you want pics i can take some but those old recievers are kind of expensive for what they do.
