Mr modnaR has kindly designed me a new avatar - so we can kiss goodbye to the old hand one. Thanks for that, it's pretty cool :)

ya $40 is a lot for the digital rights.

you should get a publisher to print it tho. I think ti'd be much cooler then.

btw, be wary of comments like " feel free to go tos taples or kinkos and make paper copies" you talk to yer lawyer bout this? this is almost giving away the rights... there's a lot of tricky shit involved.

all the best, and i'm hoping you didn't take ideas from people on this forum without giving them due credit :o

I'm tempted to buy it even though i have a 2500, not too sure yet as i don't know how much of it will be relevant even though they share many similarities.

Could be worth it for the sounds alone so i might do it anyway.

Having the digital file is much better than a book IMO. Imagine you lose the book or drop a cup of coffee all over it, you're screwed and have to pay out for a WHOLE new book.

But with the PDF it's always on the computer and you can get another bound A4 copy from the printers for a few quid.

I'd love to see a 2500 book though, especially after we've just had another OS release for it.

from the free tutorial, i think the book is very interesting, im sure that it has stuff that i have no clue about, but at the same time i rather spend 40 bucks on a stack of vinyl and work on beats with what i know and learn new things along the way.

but for someone who wants to buy a dvd to learn how to make beats, this book will serve you much better, it looks a lot more informative and indepth with the screenshots and all

'd first be interested to find out more about the new MPC2500 OS plans, because I'd like to avoid what happened with the MPC1000 - I'd actually completed the book in November (but written for OS 1.07) - then Akai come out with a completely transformed OS and I had to effectively re-write half the book and also add a load more tutorials to cover new features.

I would say yeah, and here's why? I record and lay tracks down from an ear standpoint, not by theory, but I want to learn more in theory as apose to playing by ear. Now some might have both, or one or the other. But even one with both abilitys to manipulate the MPC 1k still needs to invest,I still have the 2XL ebook and I don't even have the machine anymore, but who knows, might need to go back and refer oneday. I think you should, because Tutor uses unique Techinqic's to demostrate how to use this machine (1k). Now I do know Theory but not enough. SO hope that helps, I've heard your material, and I would say yes by listening to your tracks, but that's based on what I hear, and not what I know.

PS: :!: I need help on getting this music up on myspace.com
