Not sure what you're thinking but an SCSI drive will work with any MPC operating system that support SCSI... Which I don't know for a fact, but I reckon that would include almost every MPC OS available. Secondly, regarding internal/ATAPI drives, I ran mine on 1.14 for months without a problem, and apparently you can run anything from 1.11 upward.


Not sure what the problem is, Nano. Try different settings (making sure the IDs you use aren't in use).?

MPC2000XL OS OS Version 1.20
192kb OS V1.20 for the MPC2000XL MCD drives only
OS Version 1.14 220kb OS V1.14 for the MPC2000XL with zip and floppy

Mine did not work with 1.14 but did with 1.20 .

Terminate the drive ( horizontal top jumper ) then put the jumper on the side terminal all the way to the left . this worked for me.

I mean vertical top jumper to terminate and far left horizontal jumper .

That my friend is wrong information. The 1.20 os update does not help your mpc to recognize internal cardreaders. It enbales your mpc to format storage media that is afterwards readable on a pc.

The pc-47B has been installed b4 on 2kxl's b4 the 1.20 os was ever released. Even the IDE cf readers don't need the 1.20 update.

maybe the reader is just bad?

that new jumper mode you recommended, according to the manual. puts the unit into firmware re-write mode, are you sure it isnt the other left?

i think it may be the actual drives firmware that may need updating. ive got the weekend ahead of me..

turns out this drive i got have the firmware version 3.0, are there any higher version than this????

cool turns out the scsi ribbon wasnt pressed into the mainboard firmly enough. got it all sorted thanks for the help fellas.

i installed them in the 3.5" bay inside the mpc.
