Okay, second try...

I managed to format a Kingston 512MB CF card on my 2000 xl as well as the 3000...

When I try to save small files like SEQs everything goes fine. But PGMs and SNDs take aaaaages and then after the 3rd sample or so I get the errormsg :
"There is no disk in the SCSI hard disk drive. Please insert disk"

Saving and going back between MPC 2000xl and the PC goes fine and is exactly how I wish it would work the 3000...

Vedor : Adtron
Product: Accent-SPC
Version: 2g00

Perhaps I need an other firmware for this to work? Anyone got an Adtron reader working with a 3k?

2nd question would be: Is it possible at all to save beats on CF-cards and then read them on a computer (winxp)?

A user in England that I know uses one of these "Accent" model Adtron reader boxes the following way.

OS 3.16.
Manual selection of SCSI ID during the format stage.
Select FAST format in the MPC3000's format SCREEN.

Any joy this way ?

Rohan.

nope.

Its the same thing as with the SLOW format. Saving a PGM tages ages and then in the middle of saving the first snd he spits out the error msg.
First I was thinking perhaps it was the 512mb CF Type II card...

Any way to upgrade my reader-firmware so that it will work?

Sounds like a problem with the drive firmware.

If you have a PC with SCSI card...

Connect the ADTRON drive to your PC and format the media card via the ADTRON reader/writer using a demo version of the MIDICASE MPC-EDITOR software.

Export some programs directly to the card from the MPC-EDITOR software.

Now re-connect ADTRON to your MPC3000.

Can it load the files ?

If yes then the drive needs a firmware change.

I'll see if I can get a newer version of the firmware from some where ... assuming there is one.
