Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

Has anyone noticed any bugs that the new update hasn't fixed. For example the random 'pops' that some users experienced, HDR/CDR issues, or any new bugs. Maybe I should'nt be so cynical.

Any older MPC users, such as 2000 users, will remember waiting until version 1.72 before everything was fixed!!

But Akai now seem to be on the money.

Somebody mentioned something about the MPC freezing up under certain conditions in grid edit.

And i seem to be getting more wrong files messages than before but i need to check my samples before i blame it on a bug

Last night, I had a problem with muting tracks assigned to external MIDI sound modules. Anyone else has this problem?

When recording or just when playing back a sequence?

I just tried it with reason and that is muting fine. Can't try it with the proteus yet, i've got no mixer to hook it up...

I hope you were not expecting anything different. I guess-timate 1 year and 4 OS updates minimum for near perfection.

I just fired up the studio....the problem I was having last night is no more. It happened last night while playing back sequences.......working perfect today...

When you first made mention of this issue I was hoping it was a random MPC fizzle. I am using my external sound module today, and I am not able to mute or solo any tracks that are using my external sound module.

I loaded some drum sounds into a program to see if the whole machine is affected, and so far it appears that only my external MIDI data is not being processed properly.

I'm trying to see what could be the cause  when I find out I will Email Akai promptly and ask them to look into the issue.

same problem here... some of the tracks of my module are not muting correctly. you can even hear them if the input gain is zero (i´m using the input through feature). what i noticed: after the os upgrade the midi sync pages had to be adjusted again (because of the new mmc and mtc), but this didn´t help. the mutes still are not correct.
maybe it has something to do with the changed midi mapping or the autochromatic feature?

Eh Yo Jah!

Any chance you can share with us what you did to enable your mutes? Now I can't mute or solo (actually I couldn't solo b4 just didn't mention it).

I'm 20 minutes away from going back to o.s 1.1 When I did not have this problem.

Ya'll can keep ac

and the new grid edit views

I don't need MMC or MTC I was just fine without it.

It seems like the new O.S. Upgrade is the devil in disguise. :x

the note repeat on 1/32t acts like 1/64 when a sequence is not playing but is correct when a sequence is playing, I think I might go back to 1.1 for now, that, not being able to mute your external midi gear sh!t really sucks, and I can't roll like that.

I discovered the potential problem....

*edited*
Ooops...its most likely not a bug with this function. Its appears to be the continuous sample track. If you turn this function ON to the same track assigned to a MIDI sound module, you will produce this problem.

And now that I think about it more....I believe we went down this road before....and we came to the same conclusion...

maybe my cf card is screwed up: some project files are now 0kb and some are 1kb like the always used to be. all the project files load without an error, but the midi mute problem is there. how can it be that there is sound going through the mpc even if the rec gain is at zero?
five minutes ago one of the instruments i muted on sequence 1 kept playing after i muted all tracks AND switched to sequence 2!!!
i will record some new sequences, save and reload them to see if the problem occurs aswell.

Set mute/stop of one-shot samples to IMMEDIATE..and that should solve your problem......I hope.

@jahrome: it wasn´t a sample, it was some triggered midi sound on my m1 that kept playing after it was muted and after i changed to a sequence in which that particular sound was not used at all... :(
one shot stop is on immediate here.
continous sample function is switched off.
maybe it is the sustain pedal problem once again... what was the correct setting for that?
