Serious question about multitracking

ok i have a question

please help

im reading up and working out whats best gunna suit me, as part of my mini home studio, im CONSIDERING the MPC 2000XL but also doing as much research on it as i can before i buy it, so i dont become another
E-Bay customer!

i know about all of its main functions (sequencing etc) but what i want to know is this --

1) if i buy the 8 output board, that will enable me to channel what through the 8 outputs?? the tracks in the sequence? or what? and if not the tracks, is thier anyway to assign them to an output each for multitracking into another piece of equipment??

2)what i lastly want to know is, if the above is not possible!?! will i be able to buy a multitracker (hardware; ive been looking at the Roland VS-2400, Korg D16XD and the Akai DPS-12 etc etc!) and individualy record the ttracks from the MPC into tracks on the Multitracker! but then i want to be able to have the option of sequencing all the tracks on the multitracker, then mixing them down with realtime control over the EQ, pan, fade etc, so i can EQ and Fade tracks in and out while i record it to a stereo master! and if this is possible on some of the multitrackers (if not all) then which ones is it possible on> could you suggest some!

It will allow you to track your sound from the mpc out......If all you use is the mpc.....If you use the mp and lets say the triton keyboard then you will need something that will allow you to send in multiple in into your recorder......or if the Daw does not support many in's then a mixer with enough in's to cover your out's from the machines.......the 8 outs will only allow you to break down what is in the Mpc

The 8 outs are assigned to pads. For example, if you want to track your closed hihats only make sure they are on a track alone and assign their pad to an out. If they are stereo they will be assigned to outs 1/2 if mono they can be assigned to 1 or 2.

yes you can do it....it will require some time in doing so......I think you would have to do it 1 or 2 at a time but it can be done

Yep, what Phatz said. It can be done. As a matter of fact I was tracking that way. Just solo the track and hit record on your multitracker (in my case Nuendo) Like Phatz said it does take a while. If your sequence is 12 tracks and each track is 3.5 minutes thats 42 minutes right there and that is if you knock em out at one time. It becomes a very drawn out process that way.

yeah my fault I should have told you........there is a store here in Philly that lets me test stuff for a few day and then if I want to keep it they will charge my credit card or if not return it.......I got it coming this friday I got a 5 days to play with it and I will keep u posted or if I have any problems
