sorry to do this, but another ZIP problem here!

the os needs to be present in order for the mp to trigger anything......any scsi drives.......all you have to do is like I stated in my post......no format need for the disk......it will take you less than 20 minutes to do it.....after that you will never have to worry about this problem again unless your mpc floppy drive goes.......you do know they sell them for like 10 buck tho.......
I know, I know you dont want to hear that but what if your computer systems crashes really hard and you need to boot from a disk image that was created on floppy what are you gonna do.........
Listen man we all we got and if I was in your city I would come over and help you out of this problem.......
but the easiest option I have now made present.........
or go to a friends house and use their computer to download to a brand new floppy.......
now thats even better than taking your mp and computer apart

maybe cause it needs a "clue" to look there or something. If you're still having problems just go to KINKOs or any other place that rents computers by the minute & has a computer with a floppy. it'll take all of one minute to transfer the os from zip to floppy and then you're done...

the reason why you guys are having problems is because the mpc2000 OS needs to be copied to a zip disk from the floppy drive inside the mp... from the mp's floppy drive you go to the disk screen and select copy OS and copy it to the zip disk, if your floppy drive doesn't work then this might be a problem, unless you got a friend with an mpc2000 who can do it for you. i dont know if this will help you but it souds like u put the zip in afther u turn on the mpc ?

put the zip with the os in the zip then turn it on then turn the mpc on if your zip is working it will stop at what ever scsi id u have it at 5 or 6 it should not go to id 7(also make sure their is no disk in the mpc drive when u boot up)

also make sure youre termantion is on in the back of the zip

@DA RIPPER: nope, I tried it both ways. If the disk is already in, it automatically jumps to the next id although recognizing my zip drive (I can see it appear on the screen for a splitsecond). If the drives empty it will halt at ID5 and skip forward as soon as I put the zip in.

I already downloaded the OS and saved it on a FAT floppy now, havent tried it out yet though. I really hope it'll work so this thread can finally die.

...maybe:1-the scsi chain has to be terminated at one end,so turn the termination which is on the zip drive on.
2-turn the zip drive (with disk inside) on first,then turn the MPC on.
