2000XL SERVICE HELP

Hello people,

I was a little afraid to open up my 2000xl and try and repair my none working NV slider, but i went ahead anyway.

In the process of trying to remove the NV slider cover, I broke a resistor. No big deal, I can use a sodlering iron, but i dont know the value of the resisotor.

IT is part number C361, bottom left of the board, right hand side of the NV slider. Can someone identify this resistor, I am a little confues beacause it has 3 bands, and the fewest bands I have seen before is 4.

Also i might have to replace the NV slider, does anyone know where you can buy the same part.

***I need help quick, beacuse I need to get back to working on my MPC!***

Also I live in UK so might be harder to get hold of parts, but I am willing to pay shipping from USA.

maybe you can look up the value by using this chart the color codes on resistors are standard AFAIK. Good luck.

the resistor has a color code on it that will tell you exactly the value (3 or 4 colored bands that wrap around the thing on one end). do a google search for resistor color codes or something and then you can figure it out. it's something like the first two colors give you a value, and then the last color is a multiplier.

the other option of course is to take a multimeter and actually get a value right there.

you could of course post the colors on it and maybe somebody would find out for you, but dont count on that...just google it, it should be pretty easy to find out.

Hello peeps

The bands are
brown, black, yellow.

There is no fourth band for tolerance, so I believe it is 20% tolerance.

the resitor itself is kinda avacado light green, and is about 2mm (sorry imperial measurers) long.

I can not find this type of resistor to buy online, I have searched pretty hard.

Please can someone help me identify and locate a supplier of reisitor, preferably in the UK, but a US supplier would be fine. At least so I can identify it.

dude, you should go to cimple spares (search for them on google). They are an authorised service centre that sells all spares for MPCs & they will fix it too for you if u so require... no need to get things shipped from VST.

btw they are much cheaper than VST too.

but just buying ONE cap is probably unlikely. there is also radioshack (again in america, not sure if they are very global).

but there HAS to be an electronics store SOMEWHERE in that massive area that is the UK.

are you sure its not a diode either? does it have an arrow pointing to one of the leads on it?
