it is indeed Isaac Hayes-bumpy's lament...technically it wasn't sampled, because he recreated the exact same melody using a synth, so it is a sample, but at the same time its not..make sense?

Not to be rude or anything but Dre didn't make that track. Tricky did. I read it in Remix mag about two years ago. By the way Beet that Art of War comment is the hsit!

the site is dead right now due to hardware problems....if you dont know, its a database that has information about what samples were used for any song(well almost) it has a lot, hope its up soon.

I think that would classify as a "interpolition" if i'm correct. I could be wrong though

AH HA! i think thats what it is, i've always seen that in the inside cover of commercial releases and wondered wtf it meant

normally theyll interpolate something if its gonna cost a bagillion dollars to clear the sample. i believe kanye west did that on "this cant be life" on the dynasty

Beets, I think you're confused as to what DRE track he's talking about... the one you're talking about BEETS is next episode... I think that was a David Axelrod sample?
