Agreed, and thats what the MPC was meant for. So is 32 enough depends on how you use it. You will most likely run out if you use a lot of huge loops or are trying to use it as a sound module or multitrack device. In that case, you will eventually realize you need a 4k or dedicated sampler anyway that is better suited for those purposes.
The other issue where ram can run out is if you play live and you need many programs all in memory at the same time ready to go. The problem there is... there is a 256 sample limit! Using it for just percusion, you will hit that sample number limit BEFORE you run out of RAM. That's probably my #1 gripe about the XL.
